Abstract
Our project aims to enable a new employee to join the workforce without facing various problems such as incorrect job transfers, miscommunication, customer dissatisfaction. Proper communication is essential for the correct and efficient adaptation of a newly hired employee. However, if the person responsible for the execution gives incomplete or incorrect information, the person who takes over the business cannot perform the task correctly, which affects customer satisfaction in a negative way. In this vein, we examined the workflow of all operational units of Yusen Logistics and focused on the sea freight department. Throughout our project, we particularly aim to describe the business uses and critical points. With this purpose, we drew on a critical incident technique (CIT), which is widely studied in literature. We then applied semi-structured interviews, designed a website including our findings of CIT. The goal is to provide tremendous convenience to new recruits, including a website where they can access all information with new employment needs, with support from other employees through blog posts, and a computer-based way to evaluate information within the company.
